The China aging bust

by bluewelcker

The impact of the growing wisdom of global populations is becoming increasingly significant. Today, the Wall Street Journal published an article about China’s real estate crisis, driven by overbuilding and a population decline caused by the one-child policy. This policy has led to a demographic shift, severely disrupting their economy. The Chinese are not reproducing at a sustainable rate, which has resulted in a population made up mostly of older adults—referred to here as “The Wise.” Under the current economic paradigm, the productive and consuming segment of the population is very small. This dynamic is outdated, and a new way of thinking about how to integrate the aging population, “The Wise,” into economic structures is crucial. Otherwise, many economies worldwide may face collapse. We are entering a new global demographic era, where the contributions of The Wise are essential for the advancement of the planet. Innovative thinking and disruptive solutions are needed to adapt to this shift.
